PATA Hawai‘i and TTRA – Hawai‘i Present: 2017 Industry Holiday Breakfast

It’s our annual Holiday event! The Hawaii Chapters of PATA & TTRA invite you to our Industry Holiday Breakfast and Silent Auction at Halekulani. This is a great opportunity to get in the spirit of the holidays, for giving, and to network with your industry peers.

We’re pleased to welcome Jessica Lani Rich, President and Director of VASH, the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii. VASH continues to provide much-needed services to our visitors in need. 100% of our Silent Auction goes directly to VASH, which is dedicated to helping those visitors who have been victims of a crime or other adversities while visiting Hawaii. We will also hear from Matt Bauer, Chief Executive Officer of Kupu, a non-profit organization which empowers future generations to create a more sustainable, pono Hawaii by educating and mentoring youth to become stewards of our culture and environment. And, we will hear some of the ukulele stylings by Maia Mayeshiro, Miss Hawaii’s Outstanding Teen 2017, a graduate of Kupu and proponent of Kupu’s mission to Learn. Serve. Restore.

As 2017 gains altitude, consumers and business in the U.S. finds themselves navigating the winds of fear, change and opportunity. After five consecutive years of record visitor arrivals, where does Hawai’i go from here? Change is certainly “in the air” in Hawai’i’s West Coast markets with the merger of Alaska Airlines and Virgin America; Hawaiian Airlines’ expected transition to single-aisle Airbus A321 neo aircraft in late 2017; and, in the Japan market, with Hawaiian Airlines’ new nonstop Tokyo Haneda-Kona service. A huge Mahalo and Mele Kalikimaka to all who attended, donated, and generously supported the Visitor Aloha Society during our breakfast and silent auction at Halekulani. More than $8,500 was raised and a great time was had by all. The room and food were spectacular, and the joy of the season filled the room.

In addition to food and friends, guest enjoyed a fantastic historical presentation from the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, and a reminder from VASH about how important contributing is and the positive impact we can all have on visitors who experience hardship.
