We’re pleased to welcome Jessica Lani Rich, President and Director of VASH, the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii. VASH continues to provide much-needed services to our visitors in need. 100% of our Silent Auction goes directly to VASH, which is dedicated to helping those visitors who have been victims of a crime or other adversities while visiting Hawaii.

Topics will include Hawaiian Airlines recently announced new non-­stop service between Hawaii Island’s Kona International Airport (KOA) and Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport (HND).

Executive Development Institute for Tourism June 6 through June 17, 2016

Co-sponsored by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), EDIT provides an intensive twelve day program to serve ongoing educational needs of executives and professionals in both private and public sectors of international tourism organizations. Since 1979, participants have included government officials, hotel executives, educators, tour operators, airline executives and other travel industry professionals from over 50 countries.

For nearly four decades, the Executive Development Institute for Tourism (EDIT) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa has provided professionals from the travel and tourism public and private sectors with the knowledge and skills to work effectively in this environment of change and innovation. The flagship program at the School of Travel Industry Management builds leadership proficiency and managerial skills for rising executives, heads of businesses and leaders of governmental agencies from public and private sectors.

The twelve day institute offers a rigorous and interactive curriculum. The program prepares leaders to develop strategic approaches to international destination marketing, product development, and international tourism policy. Hawai‘i is the ideal learning environment within a living laboratory due to decades of planning and managing tourism growth.

PATA Hawaii sponsors $1000 scholarship

PATA Hawaii was proud to sponsor a $1000 scholarshop for Natasha Akee. Natasha is a Senior in TIM with a Hospitality emphasis. She Has ten years of experience working in the military hospitality industry. Natasha is the Assistant Event Coordinator for Na Kukui 2016. On her free time she serves as a Graphic Art & Media Design Consultant for St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church Stewardship Apostolate. Her long-term career goal is to become a General Manager in the hospitality industry. She plans on achieving this by applying for management training programs and through hard work and determination.
