2019 Airports Update

Thursday, September 5
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Prince Waikiki
100 Holomoana St, Honolulu, HI

State of Hawaii – Department of Transportation, Airports Division will share the latest updates on the larger statewide Hawaii Airports Modernization Program including expansion plans and ongoing improvements at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. As they reposition our aging airports to accommodate increasing volume of air traffic, meet heightened security requirements and improve the passenger experience.

Along with functional and operational efficiency, the Hawaii Airports Modernization Program also seeks to introduce, maintain and enhance environmental, social and cultural elements that can set Hawaii’s airports apart from facilities elsewhere, and to design projects to be environmentally sustainable.  Subsequent work will add capacity to airports to meet projected demand.  The program was developed by State of Hawaii in close consultation with the Airlines Committee of Hawaii and input from the community to reflect a distinctly “Hawaiian Sense of Place”.

Rental Car Facilities Update will take a statewide look at demand, service infrastructure and improvements, including an overview of the newly launched Maui facility and “plantation train”. The HNL upgrades have been years in the making, with promises of a streamlined and consolidated experience. Learn more about what’s to come!
